Directions Schiphol Airport to Weteringschans 129

Weteringschans 129 is almost across the street from the Rijksmuseum in the most centrally located part of town. The front door is blue with a yin-yang on it, and until our doorbell is fixed, please call Larae (+31 6 2516 1727) or Danielle (+31 6 2914 5825) when you are outside the door.

By Bus 197

The most direct way to your accommodations is Take Bus 197 from Schiphol to Leidseplein. Pay the driver on the bus directly, and it costs just a few euros. The trip takes 40 minutes and busses leave every 10 minutes. For a link showing this line’s stops, click here.

Then it is 10 minute walk to Weteringschans 129. Just walk away from the orange brick theatre Stads Schouwburg at your back, between the Burger King on your left and the ABN Amro Bank and Apple Store on your right, following some tram lines. Take a taxi if you’ve got a lot of luggage. A taxi line is found just across the street.

Airport to Amsterdam Centraal Station to Tram 16

You can also take the train from Schiphol Arrivals Plaza to Amsterdam Centraal Station for about €3,80 on a 2nd class ticket purchased from the Ticket Office. The yellow ticket kiosks above the train platforms only take cards with a chip and pin, so many have to go to the ticket office (and they charge a small credit card fee).

The train might have a couple more stops before reaching Amsterdam Centraal Station but it takes no longer than 17 minutes. Descend the escalators or stairs to the main hall and exit the station in the direction of platform 1. On your far left is an island of trams you need to get to Weteringschans.

Take Trams 16 or 24 to the Weteringschans stop, which is on a roundabout. When you get out, the Heineken Brewery will be in front of you. Turn right at the roundabout (but don’t go toward the brewery). This right turn puts you on Weteringschans, and #129 is soon on your right. This trip also takes about 40 minutes from airport to door.
