Sex, Drugs, and Rock & Roll™

The Naughty & Nice Red Light District Tour

Synopsis. Sex? Check. Drugs? Check. Now come get your rock and roll during a fascinating walking tour. Here’s your chance to ask the burning questions about one of the most infamous Red Light Districts in the world. Amsterdamsel Tours has all the sordid details, gossip, and little-known facts about this heady concentration of brothels and coffee shops.

The Red Light District, also knows as De Wallen, is Amsterdam’s oldest neighbourhood. Check it out on a lowbrow and highbrow walking tour that’s both naughty and knowledgeable.

But there’s more to Amsterdam’s oldest neighbourhood than prostitutes and coffee shops selling soft drugs. It’s loaded with history, too. Explore some of the city’s oldest monuments (the Old Church, the church of Our Lord in the Attic, the first gay bar) and elegant new venues. In Dutch history, it’s all connected: religion and prostitution, human trafficking, the Netherlands’ drug policy, and the district’s dramatic changes over the centuries.

Areas. The Red Light District lies between Dam Square and the Nieuwmarkt. You’ll be escorted past famous sex shows of all kinds, through the various alleyways featuring various types of sex workers, and along the hotspots for a little rock and roll after the tour. Want to go inside a coffee shop? We can show you the inside story.

Note: This is a lively tour that discusses mature themes and gives you an in-depth look at the city’s sex and drug industry. Suitable for young adults, as issues tailored to the group as necessary.
